SNAP18 Module
The SNAP18 Module is a compact chamfering module that integrates directly into your existing drill body, letting you drill and chamfer in a single operation instead of running separate tools. It fits drill bodies from Ø18.0 mm and Ø25.0 mm, producing chamfers from 0.5 to 1.0 mm depending on the blade used — all in a module that measures just 16.0 x 3.5 x 5.0 mm and sits close to the drill head.
Installation is simple: the drill body is modified with a pocket (in consultation with the drill body manufacturer) and the module is secured with a single screw. Blades swap in seconds with an assembly tool, and up to two modules can be combined in one drill body for higher feed rates. Note that it's not suited for solid carbide drills.
SNAP18 Module Info
The SNAP18 Module turns drill bodies from Ø18.0 mm into combination tools, letting you drill and chamfer in a single operation. Positioned just behind the drill head, it produces chamfers from 0.5 to 1.0 mm depending on bore diameter and blade used, and up to two modules can be integrated into one drill body for higher feed rates. In a real-world test on a 42CrMo4S workpiece, the module cut cycle time by 51% by eliminating a separate countersinking tool and manual part turning.
